SC hardly go to any stadium for I-league matches. He is heavily dependent on his scouts Venkatesh and BFC. His initial team selection - players like Rino Anto, Vineeth, Daniel, Eugenson didnt pay him any dividends. those players are not National Team material. Only around SAAF Cup, he started using his brain.
Lyngdoh is the most overpaid India outfield player at the moment. He is probably 33 and won't get any quicker. His current form is just terrible. A home game against Macau is an ideal opportunity to give either of the Brandons a break. Cavin Lobo had a good 15 mins as a sub in the last CFL match for EB. He is fit, looked sharp and made an instant impact. He should definitely be in the NT squad soon.
HOW STEPHEN CONSTANTINE IS AIMING TO TAKE INDIAN FOOTBALL TO UNPRECEDENTED HEIGHTS
“I have targeted 93 [in the rankings] as this would then be making history as India’s highest ever position in the FIFA rankings,” Constantine says. “Yes, we have made some big steps. We were 174 when I arrived so over the last few years we have done relatively well. We have taken some huge steps in the right direction over the last two years. We need to consistently do this and make sure we have a competitive domestic league so that our players can improve before we are ready for World Cups.”
Please don't read the above article. I wasted my 10 min but couldn't find anything related to Indian football. Its all about SC's journey as a coach, nothing else. The "Title" of the article completely misleading the reader. So Don't read this article and save your 10 mins.
Why no one is blaming SC for the drop in rankings? We just went 107 from 97, it's this guy's fault! Also in the likely scenario of we loosing against Kyrgyz away, we will drop further.
