By no stretch of imagination is this MFC squad mediocre......that is why his frustration is coming out.....
I personally put it to a lack of a quality pre season , not enough match analysis, sub par physical trainer.....team is struggling to complete high intensity 90 mins.
Ofcourse the fact that Maharashtra has no state leagues nor will ever have one till PP is head of WIFA doesn't help the teams cause , whose core is built of local youngsters
the main issue with current MFC squad was that they relied on taisuke to score goals who had been always injury prone and then got a japanese striker who looks great as a supporting striker who can bring other players to game.. if they had got rafi instead of sushil then probably it would have been better pair.. another issue had been inexperienced defense if take out Son, the quality gets drastically hit..
So basically the taisuke and Son injury derailed the MFC plan for top5 finish... but if mfc get some results against salgaokar and then get these players back after mid-season break.. still top5 chance is on..
@gaffertape What kind of budget you are talking about here? EB MB BFC level of budget? If not, then how can you expect them to compete with these 3? If they would have that would have been a wonder season, but this is just reality. A 4th or 5th place is not bad in a 7 team league (BFC and DSK being in safety lockers). Let Ten Group spend 12-14 crores in a seaon and then demand results. Right now just stay grateful that there is Mumbai FC in i-League.

LOL!
Budgets of top 3 aren't that far away from numbers 4, 5 & 6
