Danny Deagan bullshitting you guys...with lies damn lies and statistics.
Recent study from a Championship in UK world cup shows Average distance from goal keeper: 5.30 km Average distance from wing fullback : 10.43 km Average distance from centre halfback : 10.67 km Average distance from defensive midfielder: 11.57 km Average distance from offensive midfielder: 12.30 km Average distance from centre striker : 10.70 km Average distance from free striker : 11.10 km
So obviously we aren't far off ...the data for U17 world cup is similar as was COPA America.
Where the big difference is...are the high intensity runs.
You can calibrate these as you choose on your GPS equipment. ...and there is currently no set level.
Anything above 5.5m/sec (19.8kph compared to SC14 kph) is considered by top sports scientists as high speed running.
The number of sprints and high speed running metres is much greater in High level football.
To put it in lay man's terms.... Showing that Sunil has done 11kms is like comparing yourself to a marathon runner....you both completed 26 miles. ...but the pace is the key.
India should win SAFF easily beating Maldives and Afghanistan wont be any issue, scoring 3-5 goals should be the aim of India...ISL has taken Indian football to world class level
Robin Ruled out for 6 Months .... I won't blame clubs for not releasing players ..... Sandesh,Anas,Francis nd now Robin ....... sadly Indian media is so bull shit to through such questions to Stephen
@gaffertape so what is the data for high intensity runs at the highest level? are you also suggesting we can't compare because different teams use different definition of high intensity runs? would love if you direct me to some more relevant sources

I know that Xavi used to cover 10.5-11km on an average and Dani Alves s was around 9.7-10 km usually under Guardiola
