This is another of those reports which rehashes earlier information that no clear solution evolved in the course of the Kuala Lumpur meeting and the ISL and the I-League might not be merged this year. But one statement struck me as particularly percipient and witty:
"Just as the Panchayat representative asks two neighbours who have been warring with each other to resolve the matter among themselves, this proved to be the same. Not only was the problem not resolved, it tended to linger for a very long time." ;)

When the number of teams in ISL will be finalized ? I am waiting to see what Bengaluru & Tata do ? Are they going to oblige Aunty or they look for reality & act accordingly ?
Interesting point is since ISL can't start before 15 Nov, the franchises are to retain players beyond the 2nd window & this will have a cost impact. ISL business masters can derive a solution by deciding a single leg cum knock out tournament to finish before 15 Jan, anyway interesting days ahead.

If Sri Sri Prafoool Patel can initiate moves to make necessary amendments in the rule to keep himself "Honorary" President of AIFF till he is alive, then what prevents Mohun Bagan & EB to play from Kolkata in ISL along with the existing city franchise team ? That rule can be modified also.

Worst basis given we have the ISL, WC and the I-league of they cannot be merged (unlikely now) would like to see a earlier ISL from 4th week August to 3rd week January and I-league to kick off immediately to end in April before the heat kicks in.

Would like to have a single league for ISL instead of the playoffs.

a one month break and have federation cup in June -July in a non rainy location during the time.

Heat can't be a constraint for I-League, but heat is definitely a constraint for "Let's Football".
So I-League & Fed Cup can stretch beyond May to June to July....only the I-League teams must increase their budget to have a 50 member squad as their top 20-25 players will be ill or injured or fatigued.

Now that the real status of ISL is declared loud and clear, I am more interested to know the thinking of the football enthusiastic investors of the various teams, more than the number of teams or duration of ISL. Would they be still interested to sink their money in an unofficial tournament year after year, or would their love for football going to take a hit. I speculate a thinning of the crowd, and to some extent, the promoters.

If Merger doesn't happen soon, it will be ISL which dies a slow death and not the I-league as per my opinion. ISL can never have AFC recognition in its current format. and FDSL will never increase it beyond December to make sure so called big players are attracted to it.
