The reason the meetings happened was due to the status of Bengaluru FC, East Bengal, and Mohun Bagan. Also which league will get which AFC competition, how they would get it, what would happen to other teams. Some teams were also against two parallel leagues since one would look better than the other etc.
It wont be that easy that AIFF decide to grant AFC spot to ISL just like that. For the simple reason of AFC or FIFA are not PP's fiefdom like AIFF is. Any such decision would assume the clubs pass the licensing criteria.
Now don't say that ISL clubs are cash rich, so it will be easy to pass that easily, because most of the criteria are related to ownership and audit of the clubs, where they are vague, and also the ownership of the league they play. Private leagues are no-no.
Getting vetted by AFC/ FIFA is next to impossible for ISL clubs because of their very financial models. So cool off.
How is it impossible? You honestly don't know and are just going off what other forum members say cause it helps the agenda that the ISL is essentially fucked
@ArsenalFan700 its definitely not impossible and shouldn't be a problem. the question here is, are they willing to do it? with all the shady setup of most of franchises. They will have to do a proper paperwork and setup proper legal entities.
How do you think it is possible? Even if we assume all the fake owners are real and most of the clubs are not shadow-owned by one entity, plus nobody are in knowledge of them publishing audited balance sheets, you cannot deny it's a private tournament, which goes against FIFA's statute.
ISL is doomed because of its own inherent weaknesses.
@Deb_Ban Your first line clarifies everything....."fake owners real".....ha ha ha that is where Aunty gets stuck up. Then all her associates & pets are to be legally gifted franchises with a function & Bhutia as the Guest of Dishonour
It is a "private tournament" until it is recognized by the AIFF. Just because it is operated by FSDL doesn't mean it getting sanctioned by the AIFF doesn't mean anything. If it didn't then technically players playing in ISL wouldn't be allowed to be called up for FIFA international matches.
And on ownership, the American soccer league is single-entity in which every team and player contract is owned by the league. So it is already "approved" in FIFA.

what I meant to say is If BFC's name is announced in new ISL teams, then ISL is going be recognized in some form.
