They were after quota but forgot that in India quota is given to socially and economically weaker sections and not to general and well off sections which in this case are legacy clubs
Okay, so Mohun Bagan and East Bengal should state that if they want a fair case. The way they, and everyone else is going, it is all assuming the current franchises have paid.
Ileague clubs were playing the top league based on their merit.. They must continue to do that..if the top league becomes the entity of every club and league committee mutually decides to invest in this league to make it marketable then these club must invest so that they can get the share of the profit at the end but nobody can whip them.. Net net playing criteria must be in order of merit not by some back door entry.. Then finance may come only if all the parties agreed upon that.
Bengaluru FC then by your opinion didn't make it in either I-League or ISL based on merit, they bought in. Aizawl technically didn't either as they were relegated and only bought in to make up the numbers. Minerva Punjab, Chennai City, DSK Shivajians? Same thing.
Personally agree that it should be based on sporting merit but this is the criteria set by IMG-Reliance then what are East Bengal and Mohun Bagan to try to against it? They were not willing to do it, simple as that. Drop it.
