Gaffer I think 16 years will be ideal choice for u-18 league because they will be elgible to play in afc u-19 qualifier 2017

Again if one player play in both league ? isnt he taking slot of another player who could have developed by playing in it ?

If 15 year is old talented enough to play in U 18 ( 15 and Below kids ) then ok but what if clubs started playing many players in both league for saving cost then what is the purpose of having 2 leagues , play 13-14 year old kid in U18 league only

16 year old guys debut for professional clubs
  • I think this is ridiculous. Seemingly, the biggest issue seem to be that no one trusts each other. AIFF don't trust the clubs, and the clubs don't trust AIFF. I would hope that clubs are not moronic enough to make 15 year old kids play both leagues at the same time. But in the PL for example, talented kids are slowly introduced up age levels, and that is the biggest indicator yet of the development of a player, if a 15 year old is a regualr for the U18 team for example.

    @ Sparta..

it's ok.. even if 14 years kid plays professional football as long as he is playing only in one level..

In most cases, it would be better if same player doesn't play in two leagues ( different age groups )

You really think clubs could save crores by making young players play in both league?? I doubt if they will be payed more than just peanuts.. And this rule would mean we would not see any 15 year old debutant in u18 league resulting in his slower development to be ready for senior team..

I am still waiting for the day when a 17 year old kid gets debut in I-league/ISL and starts ruling the league by 19 yr and moves to some 2nd tier European league or top Asian leagues

yes it is nt right to play u15 in u18 league in india!!
    1. Because clubs may play him in both leagues which hamper development of the kid since he has probably started playing from u13 and nt u8

That isn't right way to go , aiff can have restrictions to how many u15s can play in a u18 team , like 2-3 players , in this way some exceptional talents :P can develop well enough (because no coach is that mad to play some random players on those slots)
