Those people complaining about 2 Indian clubs in one Group should note that there is an advantage of reaching Inter Zonal Play-off Semi Finals Directly as winner of South Asia Zone. Group F, G and H (Asean Zone) winners and Runner Up will have to play 4 competitive matches with each other before qualifying for Inter Zonal Play Off Semi-Finals with Central, South and East Asia (North Korea). It is very difficult to become winner of Asean Zone. At the end of the day, only one club from 3 Groups is going to qualify for Inter Zonal Play-Off Semi Finals. Mohun Bagan and BFC have the easiest route to reach atleast Playoff SF.
Yeah it is so complicated. One Group has 3 teams, 2 Groups has 4. So to find best Runners Up, result against last placed teams is not counted. Its a mental nightmare to play AFC Cup from 3 Asean Groups. I feel for AFC. There West Asia zone 2 best Kuwait clubs cannot play due to FIFA Ban. The clubs which can play such as Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon got security issues and has to be placed in neutral venues with empty stadiums and severe loss of Revenue for AFC. Then AFC is also hit by last minute withdrawls of clubs such as from Guam.
Last year I remember Star Sports did telecast some of the group matches of Mohun Bagan & BFC...exactly don't remember which matches though. So this year also expect that atleast home ties will be telecast. But then you never ever guess who is cooking what. Sports Channels should come forward & arrange telecast when country's 2 top teams are playing.
Group stage matches may be telecasted by Star depending on there timing and what IMG says. Fox will be telecasting all the group matches of all groups.
