It’s a storm – the storm of the new generation. In a season where almost all have opened their coffers to recruit big-names, Pailan Arrows – All India Football Federation’s developmental squad, managed by a shoe-string budget, began their campaign on a bright note against Hindustan Aeronautics Limited in the 33rd Federation Cup at the Balewadi Sports Complex on Sunday.
The blank score-sheet doesn’t reflect the story of the match. But it’s football and eventually, it’s goals that makes all the difference. But as said, it’s a developmental team and it’s the promise which matters.
The sole goal was scored by Jibon Singh who converted from the spot in the 89th minute after Malswamfela was brought down in the box.
The one-twos; the sudden burst of speed; the distribution made it all the more entertaining. Pailan had the possession all throughout and dominated; the rival team just defended.
CS Sabeeth should have opened the floodgates in the 17th minute when he muffed in an one-to one situation. And then in the 75th minute, he failed to get past an advancing rival goalkeeper Pramod.
In between, there were at least four chances which went abegging inside the box and a handball by HAL captain James Singh inside the box which was overlooked.
Shilton D’Silva, wearing the captain’s arm-band was omnipresent which Gurtej Singh and Ajay Singh announced their arrival at the National stage. The fitness levels of the Pailan boys had HAL chasing all over the time.
The promise is surely promising enough.

Talking to TOI, AIFF general secretary Kushal Das confirmed the news, saying the telecast should kick off live from Tuesday. "We have more or less finalized the deal verbally and will be releasing the payments to DD soon," said Das. "The marketing rights are with IMG-Reliance and there was some technical hitch which held up the finalization of the deal, hence Brand Value Communications Ltd was given the broadcasting rights. Now that we have finalized the DD deal, the live telecast will reach the rest. We should certainly have the live telecast feed by Tuesday latest."

does this mean they are paying DD to telecast?
