Players know their capabilities and the ground realities more than we know. They opt for sitting on the bench vis-a-vis fighting it out for the lucrative money and the chance to earn some extra money by playing hired matches (popularly known as 'khep') in the suburbs. Then they disappear happily. Clubs outside Bengal will not provide them this luxury.
Players are not to be blamed solely. They are in a difficult situation of having less number of clubs to go, the game itself on a downswing for a long time, short seasons, no support if get themselves hurt, and the like. Most of them are of poor background and have low educational qualifications, with uncertain future staring at them after they complete a futile chase of a lucrative carrier at the prime of their youth.
I probably would have done the same in in their place.
MB 2-1 DSK Shivajians after 76 mins. Milan Singh opened the scoring for the visitors in the 32nd min only for Balwant Singh to find the net twice in the 42nd and 44th min...MB have dominated the second half but their attackers, mainly Duffy and Balwant failed to convert the chances
