With Khalid Jamil likely to move away & if he leaves Jayesh Rane, Asutosh Mehta & Albino Gomes will surely move as well, Amna & Chullova already left...Aizawl will be in shambles... Therefore there is every possibility of Aizawl going downhill fast. They should know that next season they will have to play in ACL qualifiers & if they lose then AFC cup from January also, so hopefully the team owner or management restructure the team to ensure that they at least perform creditably in whatever AIFF league they play. It will be unfortunate if Aizawl disappear from the scene fast.
To my mind Aizawl is following the model of Ajax/Southampton /Valencia.....where the foundation is laid on a strong academy & good recruitment of young talent. Aizawl is lucky to have a strong MPL, which they should actively encourage to become stronger and bigger. If they get a strong replacement to Khalid they will be ok IMO. Both Amna and chilluva are replaceable & they are offering players a chance of AFC cup. They should stick to the philosophy of getting young talented players who look at Aizawl as a platform for bigger clubs.
