So shillong basically promoted their match analyst to head coach! Is the team planning to use foreigners in ileague or its going to be an inexpensive ne indian xi?
Shillong Lajong made Rs 1.47 cr in the ISL draft by selling off their players.Who cares whether they win I-League or not, as long as their bottomlines are robust and they are doing a good job of developing talents and acting as the supply line to the NT/clubs.
well it will dilute the ileague, except for Mb/EB almost everyone seems to be copying SLFC's model of hiring very cheap young local lads. Hope the corporate entries buck this trend to make the league exciting.
Also they represent a regional powerhouse and by not showing any ambition it is almost cheating the paying fans.
Firstly I-League would cease to exist from next year, so how will it be diluted! ?
Secondly, if these guys were cheap local lads, why wud ISL buy them at such a hefty price? (remember: its a franchise, so they would invest to get returns - albeit in the long term).
Thirdly, when has Bagan & EB made so much money by way of transfer fee! ?
Bagan & EB could have made some good money if they had the foresight to sign their star players on long term contracts. Look at MB. They sign their No.1 GK on one year deal everytime. That is pure stupidity!
