@sam Don't agree with that. Saff players need to be good enough, this isn't a charity show, it's top flight football. Would a Thailand do it for Indian players? We have a bigger problem of our own players not getting clubs and quitting the game.
Change the rule of foreigners, make it 4+1+1. 4 foreigners, 1 Asian and one from either south Asia or southeast Asia, this will increase interest in I league from those country's. just see how much publicity Minerva is getting from Bhutan and Nepal they have gone nuts.
So many Rules !!! Let the club decide. Not every club has budget or slot for SAFF player if he dont fit in their plan/scheme. There is shortage of Indian players because two leagues are being played simultaneously. Next year who knows what will be the schedule. 3+1 Rule is fine as mandated by AFC. Depending on your budget/requirement, a club can use foreigner slot to fill SAFF or Nigerian-its their wish.
Before first and foremost, if we have to use so much space and analysis to come to a conclusion that the participation of SAFF countries in I-League would improve Indian football, then before everything else we need to shut down IFN - before football is SAFFed out from India!
