Nail on the head. This is why they got such a deal that will be difficult for any other club to achieve today. The Goa and Kolkata clubs have to compete with 2 other clubs for attention and maybe more depending on who gets promoted this year. And the others are not in football crazy locations. However I think if they continue to improve, Mumbai and Pune FCs have the potential too.
Tell you what. a few of my labmates and batchmates are hardcore Puneites and I myself live 10 minutes close to the cooperage. These guys have never heard of Pune FC and they say none of their friends do. Also a handful of people have heard of cooperage.
But interestingly, all of them know that Kolhapur is a hotspot for football, to my pleasant surprise
