Mohun Bagan Star Jose Barreto Pens A Year Long Extension
Mohun Bagan’s evergreen Brazilian Jose Barreto has rescued the club from downfalls on numerous occasions. But the demigod figure was at the receiving end when posters demanding his resignation flooded Bagan tent on Sunday.
While speculations were ripe claiming Barreto could possibly be on his way out of Mohun Bagan, the Brazilian was handed an extension of another year another year before leaving for his homeland in the wee hours of Monday night.
Speaking to Goal.com Jose Barreto confirmed the news, “I am leaving for Brazil with my family. I will be back in Mohun Bagan by end of July.”
It must be noted that Barreto has had a mixed campaign this year which reflects in Bagan's season as they have ended trophyless.
Mohun Bagan needs to find the right balance in their squad especially when making new signings this summer however as the team for 2010-11 season was far from one of the best.
atlast emotional attachment and love for the club defeated lust of money. Nabi turned down mohun bagan's 1.10 crores offer and decided to prolong his romantic relationship with east bengal which started 8 yrs back.
