Well....whatever Rohan has commented( meaning his tweet), may be outrageous on his part, but thats a fact! Lets face it. Dempo boasts of the most enviable track record in Club Football in India in the last 5/6 years, and Armando retaining most of his players for more than half a decade. Now with all the talks of facilities/infra/continuity in people etc. in Dempo, its about time that Dempo looks beyond the Indian shore, if Armando is actually so keen to take Indian Football to the next level. And that he has to - otherwise why spend so much on retaining the top guys(after all u can only retain the top guys, provided u compensate them adequately;)rather than be consistent in the I - League only? In that context, if Armando has asked Rohan to "adapt" to Dempo style of play - why wud he do so? After all Rohan is far superior than the Dempo players in terms of ability/talent, so in that case if u want this guy to adapt to their style of play, then why hire him? Obviously,I refuse to believe that he has come for peanuts! I would rather want Armando to exploit Rohan to the advantage of Dempo in particular and Indian football in general(for eg. use his clout to strike a deal with European Clubs to send few of our guys for trials etc. - remember how Alan Gow helped Mehtab for trials?) - thats how u create value for urself/team/football in general. Instead, if u ask him to adapt, its like asking him to play below his potential - and thats sad. Anybody of the calibre of Rohan would be disappointed/frustrated. And the bigger question is, by doing so is Armando helping Indian football to take to the next level? He is hugely respected in India, and had it been some fringe coaches, I could have still understood; but coming from Armando, its hard to believe...so the question is - is he now slowly getting into the comfort zone? A coach/captain has a shelf life(Alex Ferguson is an exception!), so is his time nearing to an end as a coach? Is it time to see him more into football administration, than being a coach?
Its easier to ask one person to adapt rather than expecting 10 others to adapt. Dempo plays some of the best football in India. Thats the highest level you can expect these players to go to. They are not young players to expect them to change their style drastically. Maybe the next generation of players can adapt to Rohan. So make him play with the juniors in Goa league and that would be an economic strain on the club. Better to release him and maybe those guys making comments about his greatness can suggest him to one of the Bengal clubs.

Not a bad idea! EB looking for a fourth foreigner...so they may as well get him! Dempo's loss is EB's gain!!!!
Rohan explained himself in his interviews to the Kolkata media which was telecast a few minutes ago. He started off by saying that since he is a professional footballer, he can't compromise on his game, to which the mediamen repeatedly asked him about the "compromise" bit.
He then clearly said while he is willing to compromise, he cannot change his style completely since that won't be HIM. People in the footballing world who have seen him play all along will then be left wondering why he changed so much. (He stretched his hand out and said "who's this guy ?" to explain his last point)
Armando asked him to play in a more attacking role, preferably a striker. He is not willing to give up his CAM role, same happened with Carlos. Carlos even played against BNR as a striker but then Sanjoy Sen had discussions with him and set him in a more comfortable CAM role.
I am sorry but I think it's Armando's inflexibility which is causing this. All high profile players need to be treated differently and he is too much about his SYSTEM, which isn't pathbreaking by any means. It's just that he has a set team for so long and so much say in the decision making that Dempo succeeds, his system is nothing that great that high profile players will have to dance to his tune. They have more options than Armando and Dempo in India itself. I am pretty sure TJM must be following all this very closely since he will very easily be able to fit Rohan into his scheme of things.
Proj... if you can, can you post a video of the interview. I really want to hear all this for myself as i do not know what to believe anymore (Ricketts in East Bengal eould be amazing though).

I am just wondering... Dempo have now had 3 foreign internationals in 1 year... why does it seem that all 3 are failing?
