This is good practice. All teams should play their reserves with opponents in the next day. It helps the young players to get the playing time and show their talents.
FC Goa is a strong team, but not certainly playing like they did last year. NE is a team difficult to beat. Their coach is doing excellent job with the young team.
Jahou will be back and Mcfc will be very dangerous. Lots of space will be available for Pilkington and Maghoma though... Their right back is bit weak and can use that side.. Hopefully boumous, Ogbeche and le fondre remain out of form
Absolutely, @Ronny! Le Fondre had shown glimpses of his class in the second half of the match.
There's no denying the class of Ogbeche, Boumous and Jahouh and if they fire in unison, it could spell huge trouble for East Bengal. As it is, the team is crippled by the lack of a positive striker: Holloway is recovering from injury, no idea when Jeje and Balwant would regain fitness. Loken Meitei, who played very well in the last match, is out of this match due to injury (reported by Ganashakti). The defence, except Danny fox, did not look assured at all. The coach should think of using Samad and Irshad instead of the likes of Rana Gharami and Narayan Das
I expect MCFC to win 3-1 or 2-0. East Bengal's Indian squad isn't even ileague quality. The likes of Rana Gharami, Abhishek Ambekar, Narayan Das don't belong in the top division. Debjit's blunder cost us the first goal against ATK and I expect nothing better from him, he should be released ASAP. My first XI for today would be:
Basically a 4-2-3-1 with Pilkington as a false 9. With the players we have in defense we need a double pivot in front of the back four. Steinnman and Lyngdoh to sit deep and link up with the wing halfs and Maghoma as a number 10. Pilkington plays a false 9.
