@indian_gooner Bro I have told this many times. Just like how much elephant means to us in Kerala, In Tamilnadu its not seen as negative energy. Its Karuppusamy and Drishti its means something to the people. Just because we don't like it we should not say its bad, They are happy with it.
Saying all that Mumbai City with the train, I can see the reason but it still gives me a chuckle each time
Lived in Mumbai for more than 3 years and could see how much local train meant to them. Its not a local train in the logo though. Not many people know it, but the 7 stars in the logo is also significant because the current Bombay was made artificially by merging 7 islands, hence the name 'Islanders'. It's still technically an island as you have to cross a bridge to enter Mumbai, but it's a very narrow creek in the northern side. It's good that City group did not change the logo and identity of the club.
Chennai City previously had two swords (called aruval in Malayalam/Tamil), but they changed it after one season. I liked that one more. It looked more locally connected.
I'll anyday choose these originals designs than the ones like RoundGlass Punjab (Galatasaray colours in Real Madrid logo).
