Close down this club already. Give chance to I-League clubs like Gokulam instead waste of a spot in ISL.
North East has lowest budgets and also lowest returns for any ISL club. They struggle to get sponsors compared to teams from tier 1 cities and also don't have rich owners.
Khalid Jamil deserves a lot of credit for taking these guys to play-offs
But as every year passes owners will be reluctant to put money into the franchise because no one wants to keep loosing 15 + crores every year
ISL will have more owners walking away because of lack of any returns in long term.
We can replace NEUFC easily with clubs like Mohammedan SC, Aizawl, Gokulam. It will only make the league more interesting with these kind of new teams. New fan support will come in to the product. For that to happen they should have pro-rel. It's a dead topic. I would rather have NEUFC play till they die eventually. atleast some players will benefit. Having 10 teams means not enough games to meet AFC criteria or end up playing 3 times per season.
MSC will bring nothing new to the league. GKFC will, a fierce Kerala derby. Also GKFC are consistent champions of iLeague and deserve a jump up more than any other club.
More local rivalry, I feel there is no shortage of MSC fans. Maybe a promotion and few signings will bring back the interest. KBFC can def use one for sure. I agree. Goa could have one for sure as well.
Suvam Sen has rejoined East Bengal FC as an injury replacement for Naveen Kumar. A source close to the development confirmed he has signed a one-year deal with the club. The signing is set to be announced soon by the Kolkata-based outfit.
Last season he was with the East Bengal squad. In his debut season in ISL, he played five matches and kept two clean sheets
