CWG 2022 Day 10 Live Updates: Medal Rush For India, Nikhat Zareen Adds Third Boxing Gold
India are having a gold rush on the 10th day of the CWG 2022. Three boxers - Nikhat Zareen (women's light flyweight), Amit Panghal (men's flyweight) and Nitu Ganghas (women's minimum weight) - have won their respective finals
In the men's triple jump, India won the top two medals, courtesy Eldhose Paul (17.03 m jump for gold) and Abdulla Aboobacker Narangolintevid (17.02 jump for silver).
Meanwhile, Annu Rani and Sandeep Kumar bagged bronze medals for India in the women's javelin throw and men's 10km race walk, respectively. Indian shuttlers Lakshya Sen and PV Sindhu have entered the final of badminton men's and women's singles respectively. Kidambi Srikanth had to face defeat in the badminton men's singles semi-final. India also won the bronze medal in women's hockey after beating New Zealand in a shootout.
Pakistan's Arshad Nadim got the gold in Jevellin after throwing personal best distance more than 90 meters !!!! Surprisingly Granada athlete who won gold in World chamoionship struggled to throw 85meters here !!!! Did Neeraj ever thrown 90+ meters ???
Neeraj's best is 89.94 m. However, Neeraj has consistently thrown 87-88 m in his last few competitions.
On the other hand, Pakistani Arshad's previous best was 86m. So, one throw can go perfectly and the result can be favourable as in this case. Many Athletes have their personal best in 90m but struggle for consistency because important is the consistency.(eg Chinese Taipei Athlete, Julius Yego, Trinidad Athlete etc) If he again throws 90m then he is a serious contender but as of now I'll still rate Neeraj on a higher pedestal then Arshad because Neeraj is was more consistent (87-88)m in every competition since the Olympics including his personal best of 89.94m.
