What will Goa get out of it? Seems like a very short term signing. They could have used the money to sign a decent young foreigner.

We've seen that age clearly doesn't matter in Asian Leagues, let alone ISL. Infact all the golden boot winners of late have been 35 or above be it Coro, Angulo, Ogbeche or Cleiton.
Plus he's also coming from the second division of Spain (most come from the third division) where he has consistently been scoring for his club

Transfer fee is ok. But how come MB can pay 3 Crore per year salary to Anirudh Thapa and 4 Crore per year to Jason Cummings. 7 crore salary just for 2 players. Jason Cummings deal is mostly likely 1 year + 1 year which is ok. But, I guess Anirudh Thapa salary would be staggered amount. 1st 2 years, he might be receiving around 2 Cr salary. Rest 3 years, club may pay him hefty amount as most likely Salary cap would be increased in ISL.
I think clubs these days know that these contracts will never get completed. Will not be surprised if they decide to offload Liston after another season
