India will face Malaysia in a highly anticipated international friendly football match on November 18, 2024, at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad. This match will mark the 33rd encounter between the two teams, with both nations boasting an equal record of 12 wins apiece and 8 draws, adding extra intensity to this historic rivalry. The match promises to be a closely contested affair, as both teams are ranked near each other in the FIFA Rankings—India at 125th and Malaysia at 133rd.

India-Malaysia encounters have often been closely contested, with no clear dominance from either side. The friendly match on November 18 adds another chapter to this intense competition.

India’s squad for this match includes nine players who participated in the previous Merdeka Tournament semi-final against Malaysia (which Malaysia won 4-2), including key players like Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Sandesh Jhingan, and Suresh Singh Wangjam. Malaysia, on the other hand, brings 14 players from their previous encounter with India, including goal scorers Arif Aiman and Dion Cools.

The match will kick off at 7:30 PM; fans can catch the match live on JioCinema and Sports 18.

Yes bro, it is not Gachibowli, last time they trained in Sreenidhi Deccan Area. I can tell stadium name if someone can post any additional pics.. But Hyd has couple of good training pitches & it could be somewhere near to Hitec City area as well.

    What the F GSS ??
Problem with Indian players. When your captain makes such errors and is so inconsistent what can you expect from others. This pattern is common for Indian football players

This is what happens when you take your place in starting 11 for granted.

Pathetic performance. Can't think how much low Indian football will show me. Absolutely 0 creativity, its only foreigners in ISL due to which at last the games are palatable.

Yeah, we seem to produce players with no football sense. A lot of it is to do with the coaching we do at grassroots. Time and again ISL coaches have complained that they need to teach the basics to our players. That is very concerning and will remain in this level till we change the system.

Even starting 100 local leagues might not fix our problem until we fix the youth education programs. USA is a great example for this, They never lacked infrastructure since the 80's they had neighborhood pitches, they signed big time players nothing worked for the national team because their coaching straight out sucked.

Now everything is streamlined from grassroots license to A,B,C and D Licenses. They made all the European coaches involved in these licensing programs and it made a huge difference in how they coach youngsters. Now they have 60+ players playing outside their country in top 5 leagues. This is something that they could only dream of. They no longer rely on MLS and the clubs from Europe are not just looking at athletic fit players from USA. They are tactically there as well.

Yan Law just recently became the youngest Pro license holder in our country last week. But if you look at the program our federation does not have a plan. Like how do you plan to give exposure to involve the coaches in x number of games. What kind of games should they be? How should clubs plan to inculcate them? Are state leagues interested in taking these coaches?

We are doomed and we will never even be sub par this way.

There seems to be this tendency to take one shot to claim to fame and seal position in the team. One long shot wayward attempt and we back on track to take up supportive roles. The lack of awareness is so evident in the team makes me question the chemistry. I understand in games where we are dominated, we are all over the place but in a game like this where we had a lot of the ball there was no sense of direction other than lob it to the centre from the wingers/ wingbacks. Brandon did get the Player of the match but I thought he was rubbish,  had some setpiece deliveries but failed to dictate play, drifted wide and lobed hopeful balls which a wing back could have done. Irfan was a breath of fresh air, did mess up couple of times but made his presence felt up top which Manvir with the same physique failed. If the whole game plan is to play from the wings we don't need a Brandon. I would love to see something fresh like Edmund and irfan. Although edmund doesnt seem as creative, but looks hungrier.
