I agree with Rudra that sponsors dont really make any profits from these deals, other than visibility that is. Atleast now corporate sponsors are coming forward. Techno Group started sponsoring Aryan when they were in third division of Kolkata League, this season Bose Group of Industries are sponsoring Tollygunge Agragami.
Chirag Computers are planning to launch a football team in Kolkata, as per the newspapers in Kolkata. The name will be Chirag SC. Obviously, they are not bothered about fan base etc. else they would follow Pune FC's example as far as naming is concerned (of course, they were not interested in mass appeal all along, otherwise why they would sponsor a team like United SC who have very low support base).
I foresee a decline in interest on part of the owners in four-five years, and death thereafter.
United SC will probably sack Subrata Bhattacharya because of his closeness to sponsors. Sanjay Sen will be their main coach. Sen relegated Railways FC in KFL few seasons back - good luck in I-League with him.

I would agree that finding a sponsor is not easy in indian football. But i have my full support with United SC officials. How can a sponsor ask for share of profit? Imagine Sahara asking for profit share from Indian cricket team
Also, they are moving to remove the name chirag which is a positive thing. Its awful name which always repels me in spite of having Sunil Chetri in their ranks

I don't think so..

Kolkata based United Sports Club have parted ways with their title sponsors Chirag computers. The move was propelled by excessive control in the club that Chirag computers were initiating.
According to the AFC and AIFF guidelines the clubs have to be registered as Private Limited Companies, a criterion which United Sports Football Team Pvt. Ltd. duly fulfill. But according to information received Chirag wanted to register the club as Chirag United Sports Pvt. Ltd, a proposal not consonant with the club’s liking.
Reportedly the holding stake of the sponsors would have gone up to 93% from the present less than half.
Director of the United Football Club, Nabab Bhattacharya, said, “Yes, it is true that we are parting ways with our sponsors. They wanted too much authority in the running and functioning of the club which we are not ready to give. The sponsorship will be on our conditions not their.”
Another main reason for concern was that the players were being paid their wages directly by the sponsor and not through the club, even when the players are registered and contracted with the club. Sources have revealed that the sponsors have not made the last payments to the players amounting to 50 lakh rupees in total.
Bhattacharya added, “How can we take responsibility of the sponsor? The players are contracted and registered with us and we are responsible to pay them.”
Amid all this the club is looking for a new sponsor to strengthen its financial condition and also to strengthen its squad.“Talks with a few potential sponsors for next season are at a primary stage but there has been interest from a few companies. Also we have already started signing players for next season,” Bhattacharya said.
“So there is no need to worry we will be better and stronger next season,” he signed off.
United SC from Kolkata who were recently in news for troubled relationship with their sponsors Chirag Computers have kept themselves alive and kicking in the transfer market in spite of the tough times.
Lalkamal Bhowmick who was Chirag United’s most consistent player last season had won six Man of the Match awards. Though he was being pursued by the Big Two of Kolkata, the Bengalli boy chose to stay with United SC.
Speaking to Goal.com United SC Director Mr.Siddharta Bhattacharya said, “We share a very good relation with all the players. I made Lalkamal aware of the situation and I assured him that we will do everything possible to make him comfortable in our club and he readily agreed.”
The talented midfielder who was once a part of the India U-20 squad has made it to senior team as coach Armando Colaco has called him up to join the training camp.
“It is a proud moment for us that our player Lalkamal Bhowmick will join the national team camp. Our skipper Arnab Mondal also got a call from the India U-23 camp,” said United Director Siddharta Bhattacharya.
United SC also plans to shift their base from Kolkata to a town in Bengal named Siliguri in Darjeeling District.
“We plan to play our home matches from Siliguri next season. There will be no future of the club if we stay back in Kolkata. There is adequate infrastructure available at Siliguri too," he mentioned.
Brazilian Josimar Martins and South Korean Choi Young Il has been retained by the management while they are in advanced stages to reach an agreement with Viva Kerala defender Bello Rassaq.
