@Ronny In any tournament at Group stage, once a stronger team gets a comfortable lead of 3 or 4 goals, they take it easy and conserve their energy for future matches instead of winning it by 8 or 9 goals.
@munna219777: I disagree, scorelines in group stages help in the eventual positions for knockouts..and specially in big tournaments no team takes it easy after getting a healthy lead also..afterall you get only 3 group games in a WC
Stats may or may not reveal the truth but do give a glimpse of what to expect. we lost 3-1 to Tanzania in Youth Cup..same Tanzania team in u-17 finals drew with Mali(African champs) 0-0, beat Angola and lost 0-1 Niger(qualified for India). Becuase of their small margin of victory over Angola they lost out to Niger on GD and eventually missed their WC spot. Tanzania also drew 1-1 with the same USA team that is in our group
