Today's match between Aizawl FC and Royal Wahingdod was very dull... There was no attacking game, both teams were playing in the midfield... it seems that Aizawl FC may lost their spirit, all the goals were because of careless of Defenders.. We heard that some of our players already got offers from other teams...

Welcome Aizawl FC to the world of Semi-Professional Football. Here you will experience highs and lows and best of all most of your players (mainly the good ones) will be poached by I-League clubs by being offered more money.

Seriously though that is the story here. Many people thought that this season would be a breeze for United Sikkim FC but then they lost players like Renedy Singh, Johnny Monyengar, The Irish player who had 1 cap for Ireland, and some good young Indian talents. Now look at them, they look like they will be promoted but I they may then retain there good players like Jacobs and Bedemi because the organization will splash out money sense they would be in the I-League but if they fail say goodbye to Bedemi and Jacobs because I-League clubs would poach them. Its a sad story really. But you have to move on a rebuild. Hopefully you guys turn into a Pune FC type of management and start offering your players two-three year contracts so that they wont leave after one season.

As mentioned last week, a few of the FC Aizawl players have been offered contracts for next season. Their main task now is to avoid injuries so they don't jeopardize their pay packets in next years Kolkata League & Shillong League.
This is always the risk of having the 2nd Division in the period ( after January) when clubs are allowed under FIFA rules to approach players in the final year of their contracts. as most teams sign players for only 1 season , the clubs are free to make offers.
Last year some Kolkata officials were so blatant that they came to teams practices with check books in hand !!
    AIFF must look into this,
same thing will happen in the I-League over the next few games, expect Mumbai FC to make offers for HAL players , and other such games ( remember Salgaocar & JCT last season )

Yep expect it all to happen.

But let me ask something here. Why are we going through all this hassel. I know it is getting annoying of me preaching for expansion and no relegation nor promotion but look at what it has caused in Indian football.

Teams are being blamed for cheating and buying games, teams are poaching from other clubs, players are being given more money that they would never see in other leagues.

With expansion there would be no worry. If your team is close to the bottom of the table there is no worry. You dont need to buy players in order to stay up because there is no worry of going down. Instead you can focus of better organizing your team by spending on youth development and marketing and gradually get better with no worry of relegation. Also the players would not be overpaid because there would be no need for that. I know that players like Rohit Chand and Ebi Sukore are taking most of the HAL and Mumbai small payroll. Well you wont need to spend that much on them if there is no relegation. Instead you can focus on youth development and unearth the next talent and have your own better version of Rohit Chand or Ebi Sukore for FREE!

And another thing is that with expansion you can control which teams are in your league. Right now we have clubs like Chirag Kerala and Air India. Air India dont even pay there players. Is that a professional club! There are better teams like Delhi United FC and Hyderabad Globe who have proven that they are willing. In fact Delhi United have there own Academy. Obviously they would need help from the AIFF in terms of money and all that but that should not be an issue.

Yes this is a thread about the I-League 2nd Division but I am just saying that all this talk of corruption and poaching can be gone.

With this loss it is all but over for the AFC.Now I hope they play well in rest of the matches and try to get maximum points cause who knows they might get lucky with the expansion next season even finishing top 4 could do them some luck.

If not then better build a strong team, get more professional and take help of Mizo State association and try to host next years 2 Div in their home and hopefully qualify.
  • Yep, what Ash said. Remember @Mizo you guys came in as such an unknown club which no one knew about and now look. Almost everyone wants you guys in I-League. You guys have built a good platform for going amateur to professional and maybe one more year will help you guys make it to the top. Your a young side, this year was a good start, now focus this off-season and turn fully professional.

@mizo you guys see there had been clubs namely mumbai fc and pune fc who had been able to get to top division soon with their formation and also were able get a reputed name for themselves ....and soon to follow them is united sikkim
if these clubs can do it at their young age with a good talent available in mizoram all you guys need is bit money poured into your club structure and will soon be in top division

Great spirit. Keep fighting and after 2nd div, play in smaller tournaments which wll give ur team valuable experience and match practice.... try to play tournaments in other parts of India too and not only restrict urself to north east matches... this is how teams like Royals and USFC have improved
