With the arrival of
Australian player Antun Kovacic,
Churchill Brothers have now
completed their roster of four
foreign players and are ready to
take on any team in the country
with the ultimate aim of
conquering the I-League title and
some major titles in the country’s
football arena.
It was informed that Kovacic has
to his credit the distinction of
playing for New Castel Jets in the
A-League and also doing his stint
in South Korea, besides playing
for big clubs in Australia itself.
This 1.94 meter tall Australian
player, who prefers to play in
the centre back, is likely to be the
tallest footballer in the country.
According to a source from
Churchill Brothers, Kovacic has
arrived in the state on Sunday
morning and will be formally
introduced to the press on
Monday or Tuesday at the club
house at Varca.
With his arrival, Churchill
Brothers have now four foreign
stars in striker Henri Antchouet,
ND Opara and Roberto Mendes
alias Beto.
“This is surely going to be a
deadly combination,” the source
said. He further said that the
entire Churchill Brothers family is
happy about the arrival of all the
four foreign players who are
class in themselves and have the
capability to deliver goods

Old warhorses are often good enough for Indian football, such is our standard. Other than Yakubu last season Igor Skyvryn top scored in NFl when he was 36, Cheema also played a big part in Bagan's first NFL when he was in mid-30s.

Henry Antchouet in Gabon's final Squad for AFCON 2012

This is probably first time in many years that an I-League foreign player has been called-up to a Continental finals.

wow that is good news for henri ....but the club name it says is goa....may be that writing the club name as churchill brothers might have been a bit awkward for them....

thats an amazing news! Shows how careful the people in Goa are while choosing a foreigner. They do not depend on gambling their chances unlike Bengal teams.
Gabon are ranked 77 and they were 30 just 2.5 years back!!
