Rovers Cup

According to reports in the tele media of Kolkata, this year onwards Rovers Cup will restart in a grand manner, with huge prize money -- quoted figures are more than that in Durand -- and at least 2 foreign clubs. Any further lights on the topic?

with news of mumbai fc already withdrawing from durand cup(reason may be 40 matches scheme) and many i-league teams already not in the fixtures of durand cup.....and more importantly the fabulous working of wifa ceo.....there is every possibility of this tournament happening...... <!-- s:handgestures-fingerscrossed: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/handgestures/fingerscrossed.gif" alt=":handgestures-fingerscrossed:" title="Fingers Crossed" /><!-- s:handgestures-fingerscrossed: -->

I think Rovers as well as Durand give the clubs real time tournament scenario to test their squad ahead of I-league. For big clubs, it is the reserve bench. IMO, they do have some use.
