Haha. Thanks. But you guys are more knowledgable in Indian football than I.
But talking to Sunil has made me think different about him. About what happened to him in his adventure. I see Dominic is bitter because Sunil left Churchill Brothers. I see that. You can't fault Sunil for that.
Sunil knows that in both India and his club, he is expected to score goals. He is expected to lead his country to glory akin to the likes of Messi to Argentina, Ronaldo to Portugual, Neymar to Brazil, and more. Sunil knows that and it has put a lot of pressure. His move to break into Bengaluru FC was not an easy one, I'd imagine. Just because you're one of the nationa's best doesn't mean it will guarentee you playing time.
See Subrata Pal. Some say he's the best goalkeeper in India. Some say he isn't. Yet, he got benched last year due to poor performance and Sunil realizes that just because he's India's "poster-boy", doesn't mean his name isn't on a bench for India. If Sunil starts to slow down, you can be sure Wim will bring in Robin and the company to replace the down-weathered striker.
At the end of the day, if you think Sunil is a "traitor", you have to look it at from his POV. Why would you hate Sunil so much for leaving a club when you don't fully understand his motives for leaving?
As I like to say, "Just because something seems bad right now, doesn't mean it will stay that way in the future."
