Canada has their own League system as well.

I think only 3 of their Franchise play in MLS. But the clubs who play in Canadian Soccer league system like Canadian Premier League are proper independent Clubs instead of controlled Franchise of MLS. Canada also have a Championship Trophy where 3 MLS Frachise, 7 Canadian premier League clubs and 2nd division state league clubs from Ontario, Quebec play against each other.
