10th Aaha Gold Cup, 2012

Sahara Club have confirmed the participating teams for the 10th Aaha Rara Gold Cup Football Tournament which is starting from 31st of January at Pokhara Football Stadium.

The Sahara Club held press meet on Wednesday informing that I-League team; Pune FC and African United Club are the two foreign teams in the competition.

The participating teams are:

Nepal Police Club, Mega Three Star Club, LH MMC, Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club, Samsung JYC, RCT, African United Club, Pune FC - India, Dharan FC, Rupendehi XI, ANFA U-17 and Sahara Club

    Aaha Gold Cup (Nepali: आहा गोल्ड कप) is a yearly football (soccer) tournament held in Pokhara, Nepal organized by Sahara Club (Pokhara). It was formerly known as Caravan Gold Cup. It's the most popular football tournament in the mofussil. The Cup is major attraction for involvement of major clubs of Nepal and some international clubs. The cup is recognized by ANFA and is included in its yearly calendar. The competition is knockout one and 12 teams compete for the title. The tournament is the eye piece event that keeps the spirit of football alive and handsomly reward the clubs and players and is also the longest sporting event to be held regularly.

    Looks like the first ever I-League Academy Team is already showing that having an Academy is better than having a youth team.
