Well, normal protocol says they can join if they have intention of permannently settling in India. For sportsmen also govt is not even asking them to settle here, just asking to leave the other passport and take India's.
We are taking the whole thing wrongly, India not saying that a PIO cant join, saying that you need to sacrifice the other nationality. If the person cant do then they dont cross the hurdle

Then its a question of desire. Obviously I understand if its say Michael Chopra who would not be able to play in England but those Dutch based guys and Natan should have it in them to join India. Why not? The potential amount of fame that could come with it is huge.

yes for that they have to contact AIFF, and then the coach has to recommend him to AIFF, and then if AIFF says you can join, they have to decide...
But there's one catch...what if these guys are not selected in the team in future (coz they become shit or injured)...then its a loss for them coz they lose both fame as well as the european passport..so thats why ultimately very few would be ready to leave their passport...
As i said before if the big guys can get together... they can get these players on board... the players can ger residency back in europe via marriage to their gf etc.. surely mittals or others can help them find clubs in europe so its all doable if they want to do it.
Has Arata given up passport to play for india or just free up a slot at club? See how he does n myb others can follow.

i dont think Arata will play for India...he just left it coz he was well settled here with wife...and saw that he can easily stay in Indian football after retiring

Ya, Arata maybe a nice guy and all but I do not think he is national team material anymore.

This British Horseracing Authority sounds more like FA.
