The AIFF requested to place advertising billboards in the My Dinh Stadium as part of the deal sent to the VFF on September 31 with a 24-hour deadline to answer the proposal. But the VFF denied the proposal due to "difficulties to clear the request" by the AIFF within the mentioned deadline.

Way to go AIFF !!
i dont think the AIFF are entirely to blame here....it is very unusual to send request to put billboards in away games and the AIFF personnel hopefully know that....i am assuming PRESSURE from IMG-R here to advertise themselves..... anyways it is a lost opportunity to win some fifa ranking points :-(
Wait a minute, the AIFF only made a 'request' to the VFF on the advertising. It doesn't appear to have been a 'demand'. They have every right to turn down the request. Doesn't mean they need to turn down the match. They're not native English speakers, so perhaps this is just a misunderstanding?
Hopefully someone from the AIFF will take the initiative to make a phone call and clarify this.
In other words, what the AIFF meant to say was. "Hey, its great that we've got this game organized for the 19th, but please may I place an advertisement hoarding at the stadium during the game? Feel free to refuse if you can't do it, but in any case, give me an answer within 24 hours because the logistics of getting the hoardings printed and set up at your stadium takes us 19 freaking days - that's just how we roll. Thank you" but what the Vietnamese understood was. "Yo Bitches! I demand that you plaster your stadium with my hoardings. You have 24 hours to accept or we won't play at all and then you'll be all disappointed!"

I am fine with the billboards n all ... but whats with the 24 hr deadline ?
Vietnam already has busy schedule http://www.fifa.com/associations/association=vie/fixturesresults/gender=m/index.html ... why would they rush to India's request.
Didnt we see similar last minute rush was seen during Nehru Cup ?
this news is also here http://english.vov.vn/CultureSports/Sports/No-friendly-match-between-Vietnam-and-India/222390.vov
seems like we are loosing out on a crucial friendly..lets play with Maldives or AFGHANS..they are higher ranked than us at the moment
From Vietnam website
It was highly appreciated as India is a strong opponent in Asia which can provide Vietnam with valuable experience. )
hahaha

I love you @Pedro Gonzales
Pedro, I bet thats what the Vietnamese thought! When they refused my 1st thought was 'are they busy fighting US again?'
