Some players don't look gud enough by even saff standards, especially #9 and #14 ..who are these two? Anyways no wc means most of these players got no match practice like the arrows guys did and it shows.
Pinto should be sacked atleast after the qualifiers are finished.. Will anyone believe many of the players in this squad were part of the team that reached quarterfinals of u16 asian cup.. Pinto got enough time with this batch and I cant see any improvement in their performance..
There should be leagues at every different age group level..and basis recent performances team should be selected...not dwell on past performances..there could be much more deserving boys than this bunch of 11..
0-0 FT Lucky to get the draw tbh, Bangladesh had the better chances, more disciplined, better game plan. Vikram Pratap n Givson have detoriated badly while some are downright useless.Sadly no chance in AFC if this continues.
Then Bibiano must get a chance to Coach the U19 , instead of handing over these boys to Pinto.... National team at a higher level compared to Bangladesh, same applies for U16, but how come the U18s managed by Pinto continue to remain unsuccessful even at SAFF level... What is the missing piece here..??
A waste of tax money (tour to islands in pacific ocean) in the name of some low quality OFC cup and winning the cup, i guess... Well managed.
Arata izumi who won the u13 ilgue with RFYC or khalid Jamil on loan from neufc till Nov qualifiers shd become coach.. Else find a good foreign youth coach.. Isac doru needs to take action immediately
What the hell has Pinto done to our u19 batch.. Another thing to note is that very few boys from Bibiano's previous U16 are in this and those who are do not play the same way anymore..case in point is Vikram Pratap
Is it just Pinto or something else ?? Even U-16 team that had likes of Subrata reached AFC quarters and lost to Korea now we all know where India is. Same with many other batches that used beat Saudi and all turned into peice of shit at U-19 level. So can't be coach alone.
Talking about India U-19's record they haven't qualified for AFC U-19 finals since the time they hosted 13 years ago in 2006. Now lets come to SAFF U-18/19, since its inception we have never won it.
After the Indian U-18 National Team was held to a goalless draw by Bangladesh in their opening match of the SAFF U-18 Championship at the APF Stadium on Monday (September 23), Head Coach Floyd Pinto stated “it was a difficult game.”
“Bangladesh defended with 10 men, and I have to give credit to the boys for not stopping to put in the effort,” he added. “We have got a point from this match is a minor positive. But these boys will improve as the tournament progresses, and their quality of football will also improve.”
The Indian U-18s clash next against Sri Lanka in their last Group Stage match of the Championship on September 25, 2019. Sri Lanka had earlier lost 0-3 to Bangladesh, and the top two teams from the Group will qualify for the semi-finals slated for September 27.
The Indian U-18s had started the match on an attacking note but an injury to goalkeeper Prabhsukan Singh Gill in the 9th minute meant that Pinto had to make an early change. With Bangladesh committing bodies in defence, India colts were not able to break through.
Chances for Floyd’s boys came through set pieces. In the 36th minute, Sumit Rathi’s header came close to giving India the lead, but it flew inches over the bar.
Changing over, the second half was much like the first, with India dominating possession but failing to create clear goal chances. Despite ringing in two changes to up the attacking front, India failed to create goal scoring opportunities, and could not convert half chances.
These are Pintos comments after this match. You are going to hear the same type of comments for every upcoming matches. Now facing SAFF teams have become tough for us
