Meetei was by far the best young player out there. He has got skills which will not only be effective now but in senior football as well. Body feints, quick feet just help him glide past players even on these poor grounds, rarely needing pace to beat his man having said that he has good pace as well. Have very high hopes for him. Naorem at MB will be another one to look at, will get matches to play this season unlike previous two seasons. Both looked much better than Komal Thatal and Rahul KP in the u17 wc iirc.
It was a disappointing win(pun intended) if I may call it.
Not only our finishing but our decision making as a whole while attacking is bad in my opinion. Eg) Where we should cross,we shoot.Where we should shoot,we pass etc.
The finishing of our players is as bad as I have ever seen. Its dreadful to be honest.
Danu and Amarjit both are necessary for this team to even have an outside chance at the Afc Qualifiers.
I personally wasn't happy with the way our players celebrated at the end. We celebrated like we have qualified for the World Cup or Afc main Tournament. Too much celebration for a Tournament like Saff.
Practice matches before the main Tournament will provide a clear picture as to where we stand because matches will be in much better conditions and more or less with our final team.
Currently, this team looks off the pace to me.Will wait for the practice matches though.
I think that celebration was because in Nepal the crowd becomes hostile towards our youngsters.. Frankly they deserve to celebrate. They fought hard and won in regulation time. Also probably we are underestimating this Bangla team.. I've heard they beat some big teams in friendlies
If we keep going for short term successes and keep sacking our coaches, how will Indian coaches learn and gain experience? To me Pinto is not bad. He can be given a good foreign assistant coach from whom he can learn certain aspects. And these age tournaments will keep on happening; we need to show faith in Indian coaches. For how long will we depend upon foreign coaches? This team though, really needs to improve fast. Horrible play!
And you think it was an answer to something that was done before? If you expect U18s to keep cool and not retaliate or react even if someone insults them, then I am not sure how many will agree with you.
Well we have to understand that these are young boys being howled at consistently by the home crowds and opposition players trying to kick at every opportunity. Plus you add the pressure of being favourites and being criticised if they fail, all this might be too much for these boys. Just see the reaction of Meetei when the goal went in. He didn't shout like others just fell down to the ground in relief.
Personally I like the boys being pushed this way, bad grounds, hostile crowds, dirty opponents. All of this will aid them later
So,if the the crowd is supporting your opponents then you should show middle fingers or opponent is playing a physical game (like Stoke City or Bolton of the old) then after winning you should pump fists in front of their faces.

I have objected at the way they celebrated. I have never said they shouldn't celebrate.
They were showing middle fingers, pumping fists in front of Bangladeshi players etc. That is not the way to celebrate.
