I think it will sound great for something like DPS ( cliched good school although it is not) affiliated with Mohun Bagan/ BFC. These schools will do anything for publicity and money.
Team India sometimes uses DPS Delhi facilities for practice and training..another option wud be the foottball focussed schools like Mamta Modern,APS etc
@munna21977 only a fraction ..ie less than 1% are even contemplating sending kids to the US and "gaming" the system/SAT
If you want to increase the pool of players for India youth teams. ..start youth Leagues...NOT Residential Academies which are filled by State Federations or their cronies. ..
The Mumbai schools league is still a good place to spot talent
What we need is something to coordinate these and put them in a proper pyramid
ISL video on the young champs program... it has everything... beautiful fields, brilliant coaching, excellent video production, good looking kits, nice involved parents, and banned player for using drugs, and the Reliance logo plastered to your face for 45 minutes.
But in all seriousness, I recommend people watch. Just from watching the clips from the team programs, you can see what @Ashlesh said in the other thread about schools.
They will be coached and educated at the Reliance Foundation School in Mumbai. It's nice but not a long-tern sustainable thing if we are to improve as a footballing nation. In the video, the Chennaiyin FC guys said they had plans for a "Centre of Excellence" or an Academy. Hopefully we can see something in the coming years.
