It was not a flop. Budget 150 million dollars and its worldwide gross was 378 million dollars. Semi-Hit you can say. Mad Max series has a cult following from late 1970s.
@BrainFallINDIA: Thanks for sharing the info, Just read the summary on Wiki...fascinating... Will try to catch it... Has it got English sub-titles? BTW, one of best suspense thrillers in Bengali is the film 'Kuheli' (The Mystery)...released a long time back in 1971...I first saw it when I was six/ seven...it still gives me the creeps...if somebody wants to watch it (with English sub-titles) , here is the link
Oh no the summary in wiki is poorly written . I knew it before and forgot to warn you guys . And its available with english subs .Will try to find a link .
@thebeautifulgame As per your recommendation, I watched the film "Kanchanjunga". Very very impressive film and it looked like way ahead of its time in 1962. Next in my list will be "Mahanagar" and "Nayak".
"M S Dhoni The Untold Story" is a nice and inspirational film. Few biopics on sportspersons are so close to the true story. Only one mystery, Dhoni has a brother-they completely removed him. M S Dhoni had reportedly asked for 60 crore rupees for giving his rights to make a movie. I would say that at the end, he would have got a figure between 25 to 30 crore rupees. BCCI got something between 15 to 20 Crore Rupees for using their name and footage of Cricket matches. Way to go BCCI.
