Can India love football the way it loves cricket?

The I-League is still in its infancy but the domestic game struggles to establish itself against it's European cousin and the national obsession.

  • Proper focus has to be given on national team. In a country like India where club football hasnt reached every corner, only the success of national team increase popularity of the game. During Asian Cup, lot of ppl who dont care about Indian football took notice for a change.

    You must be kidding!!!
  • the only way of making football popular in india is by making a new wealthy and high profile strict city based national league and make it as attractive as it can be made...fans will start to follow their club and if every club has some standard to be termed as wealthy and truly professional side, fans will be excited to see their club clash against other wealthy opponents and this can increase the popularity of the whole league and can result in more and more sports fans to follow this league and by which each and every outstanding players on the league will get noticed nationally and will turn out to be their fans and result in cheering for these players where they see these talents....and if these talented and outstanding players are assembled to fill the national side, the fans are going to flow to the stadiums in bulk to see their national heros in action no matter against which all teams, they will be enjoying their heros in action for sure.....
