@chelseaindia play your 3 u23 players in your unrecognized franchise league not in top division of India, @SiV tier 2 of India is I league 2nd division, I league is first , ISL is a unrecognized franchise league which has clearly failed as we speak.
I think the winner of Super Cup should get qualified for ACL . This two league thing can't go on forever .If two parties can't find a solution there's nothing much you can do. What they can do is make IL an independent body like ISL . Let the IL owners decide what's best for them. Surely they can't be worse than AIFF or FSDL in finding sponsors or managing expenses. Let the winner of IL and ISL play a two legged final with 4 foreigners in each team. Let the best team represent India.
Rules should be same for both leagues. In ISL, increase in number of Foreigners, Old unfit retired 35 plus 40 touching foreigners are good for Indian football. In I-League, decrease in number of Foreign players, more u-18, or U 21 players is good for Indian Football. They should have same yardstick for both the leagues ??
As almost entire Indian National team squad is from ISL, how about making all this weird experimentation of restricting Foreign players in ISL.
Super Cup winner should qualify for AFC Cup. As I-league is still the top tier as per FIFA and AFC, I-League winner should qualify for ACL. Anyways that team also play in AFC Cup.
IMO Super Cup should be between ISL and IL winners . Two legged final. We should also have a domestic cup which will determine the AFC Cup slot .
Age and amount of foreign players shouldn't matter .what matters is that the playing level should be equal for everyone in terms of number of foreign players or U23 in these cup tournaments.
Let the fans decide which league to watch and support . It will make things clear for the authorities that nobody are pushovers.
simple... make ISL : Conference A I League : Conference B both leagues 12teams each and they play home away matches in teams in their respective conference and one match against teams in other conference (this should be random home or away) so total 11+11+12= 34 matches no need of knockout cup during or after season, if required bring durand cup as pre-season cup
Winner of both conf plays for Super CUP before that they get conference trophy(FFS change that damn super cup trophy) , winner of Super Cup gets ACL, runner up gets AFC
Tomislav Rogic the best GK coach I have seen in the national team setup, says Gurpreet Sandhu
Indian senior men’s football team goalkeeper Gupreet Singh Sandhu has lavished praise on the current goalkeeper coach Tomislav Rogic. Rogic, who has been training the Indian goalkeepers in the preparatory camp for the King’s Cup, has worked with clubs like Shaktar Donetsk, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Club Brugge in the past.
“He is the best I have ever worked with in the national team setup, and even club football in India,” Gurpreet stated in an interview. The first Indian to play in an Europa League qualifier, Gurpreet spoke at length about Rogic’s influence, his training methods, the value addition, and much more.
EXCERPTS
What is your impression of the new goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic?
His experience, and most importantly his ability says it all. I can say with full confidence, especially after I was fortunate enough to experience it in Europe that he is someone of the highest level. He is a class apart. I am sure anyone who will train under him will immensely benefit from him in becoming a better goalkeeper.
What value has Rogic been able to add to the goalkeeping department?
He comes from the level which we all Indian Goalkeepers aspire to reach. The level of intensity in training, the speed of his training is right up there. For me to match it every day, to be in that kind of top notch training in this camp has been an exceptional experience indeed. In fact, right on the first day itself, we realised that this camp will be going to be far more different. We gauged, that this man is special, and this is what we need to get to reach to the next level as goalkeepers.
How do you rate him as a coach especially given the fact that you have trained abroad for a substantial period?
From my experience of having trained with the national team, and even at the club level, he stays right at the top. It is so good to have someone who finally knows how to push you the right manner, and show to us what more we can do, and in which manner. With all due respect to all other coaches whom I have trained under in India, or at the national team, they have all tried their best, contributed and made us better. But Tomislav is of a different level. You want to grasp as much as you can.
What makes his training special?
He keeps us busy, and keeps it simple. At times it makes you wonder, how simple top notch coaching can be. He never allows us to relax. As goalkeepers you don’t get much time to think about what is next. You just need to focus on your aspects of goalkeeping, and that’s most important -- that’s what is needed. He doesn’t allow you the time to rest, and suddenly, there’s the next move.
How are you approaching his training sessions?
Just go and learn as much as you can. I am trying to grasp the maximum. In fact, not just me, that’s been the philosophy of all the goalkeepers in the camp – Amrinder (Singh), Kamaljit (Singh), and myself; and even Vishal (Kaith -- as and when he was in the camp).
