The two Kolkata-giants have once again initiated talks with IndSuperLeague authorities for a probable entry into the league, hopefully from next season
Seems like the Big Two back-stabbed the 6-club alliance (and I-League and Indian Football in general) again. Needed stronger clubs like Dempo and Salgaocar, but they also left the mat.
If something materializes, then FSDL will bulldoze the weak clubs' union and crush IL in no time.
With Pune closing down and not many new investors coming forth, FSDL is also desperate. Breaking the big two away from the alliance and someway including them in ISL will give FSDL the leverage to become the top league and maybe the chance to get new investors.
I am not in favor of ISL being top league but this tussle of two leagues has to stop soon. Maybe making ISL the top league is the only solution despite it being unfair (unsupportable move in my opinion).
Meanwhile how many years are left in the contract between AIFF and FSDL?
The alliance between EB & I-League club was over, the moment Quess announced departure. And after that it was clear that EB will definitely go for ISL. MB situation is unclear, do they have money/sponsor etc?
Yes, but EB & MB always wanted to play in ISL since BFC went. This year Quess took the stance otherwise & they had to go. I don't like Goal.com because they are biased, but you can't deny that current EB's main committee also in favor of ISL
