This is shit rule by govnt. Again shows people with lack of sports knowledge running decision posts in India. Football is the most competitive sport in the world and no sports comes in between. If govt is not supporting this game then who will? Then we will have to rely on Ambani types power houses, cause funding is required. We can keep lamenting on national tema games getting cancelled, games not aired on television etc etc. Cant acknowledge this decision and I also cannot understand why ifn members seem to support it if they are really interested in Indian football. Government needs catchy headlines to show public that they are doing well in sports.
Dipika Kumari Archery world champion or Manu Bhaker junior shooting world champion. In reality they are far far away from best in the world. Archery has 4 -5 world cups in one year and at any time, most of the top wrld archers are absent. same thing for shooting - junior world cup means very little when you go to olympics.Such fakeness and propoganda cannot be created in football

You need Mass participation and more number of footballers, it is not any individual sport where if we select 5 or 6 players in Khelo type event and they will win medals.
Its refreshing to see Kerala doing well across all platforms of Indian Football. They always had abundance of talent. It also shows good amt of game time is needed for player to excel
Brilliant article, On thoughts from Govt, though it seems bad a lot of athletes will lose support due to funding. Only if you cut funding Praful and his goons will walk away. In Govt eyes this is a super corrupt organization and I can't blame them for not supporting football enough. It is a year and a half from the last time the postponement happened citing Covid. Why do we still not have time to host elections ?
This is what happens when funding's go to pockets of officials than to improve sports. You know that AIFF officials salaries and meeting costs is way more than what players who play for India make.
I just hope this makes the shitty management to leave considering the money has drained out. Honestly I would not mind Reliance backing off from football either if it results in money minded politicians who cant name 5 players getting the hell out of AIFF
Why don't Indian NT play a friendly against the best foreign players playing in Indian leagues? I think Malasia has a system like that where at tge end if season tgey hold a match between their NT vs. Best Foreigners' 11. Such a match would give our NT much more of a challenge.
