Former Delhi state footballer Arunesh Sharma, who represented India at junior level, has passed away.
Sharma (67) Popularly known as Chochi in Delhi football circles, a left-winger, started his playing career in 1962 and represented Delhi in National Junior Championship at Allahabad, Ajmer and Cuttack in 1962, 1964, 1965.
He represented Delhi football team in Senior Nationals held in Coimbatore and Jalandhar from 1967 to 1969.
He also represented India in Asian YouthFootball Championship held in Bangkok in 1967.
The AIFF and DSA nominated him as aDirector of AFC`s Vision Delhi Pilot Project in 1992-93.
He was a regular player of Delhi`s Shimla Youngs FC and was a popular figure in DSA Senior Division league from 1969 to 198O.
Very unprofessional from the Zambian Football Association. They may be African Champions but they should know better than to just come in randomly without AIFF permission and the AIFF have made it clear that the rules are that the country go through them. Congrats to the AIFF. Perhaps AIFF and the ZFA can now work out a deal...
I would say Zambia gets to train in India but Zambia must play a friendly with India on 26 March 2012 (A FIFA date in India which would be the perfect time for India to play. The AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers would be over and Wim would by then have a clear idea of who he wants based on I-League performance instead of mainly being advised by Baan. Who fits his style (Wim's) will be decided by then. Great way to begin preparation towards the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup.
So (Predicting) our preparation would be a 26 March friendly and then the 2013 SAFF Cup (Hopefully in the Summer).
ONGC Football Club will tie up with Sheffield
Football Club and as per rumors Sheffield will send 3 African Players
from their reserve squad in India ONGC looking to stay afloat in I-
league.
