Central govt has probably taken over all sports bodies tbh

I hope in return Saudi Arabia will do a favor by playing regularly with Indian youth teams.

Instead of pulling out, we could have co-hosted with Saudi Arabia. Though co-hosting with the SAFF countries like Bangladesh, Maldives is most feasible option. Saudi is not far away and well connected from Indian cities like Mumbai.

only neighboring countries should co host. we have seen the difficulties of euro 2020.

But neighbouring countries should be ready to co-host. Hosting Asian cup with 24 countries is a big deal and would cost atleast hundreds of crores. 

In cricket, countries like Bangladesh & SriLanka would be ready to host due to high returns. But not sure about football. AFC alone cannot deal with it and need government support for hosting big tournaments.
