These guys will never learn. Indian football has been dead since last few years. Even if willing people join AIFF they will never be able to implement anything in this country. Its hopeless!
Exactly, hands very much tied down of willing people. The agreement made 15 years back, has only pushed us down, all debacles , all whims and fancies without actual development just started at that point over taking all that was logical. People just wqnt success now but forget no youth development occurred these 15 years resulting in a void in national team of true potential players. At a time when we should have given priority to ileague which was shining brightly, gone to nooks and corner of country, we decided to push us backward. And all officials remaining of thet era still hinders progress
FSDL focused too much on creating a franchise league thinking magically it will bring in funds for Indian football like IPL in cricket. However there is a huge gap in grassroots in Indian football.
Dont we think 48 is too farse.. It will be reveresed once held.
i don't think it will be reversed, because more teams means more money to FIFA and FIFA desperately wants Indian market. Actually I want it to increase to 64 teams. The first round should be a knockout of 32 lower seeded nations in an elimination round.
This way all those nations who dream of getting into WC gets fulfilled even they play and loose that game. Other strong teams fight for trophy as usual.
Fifa is to consider a proposal to expand the 2030 men’s World Cup finals to 64 teams, an adjustment that would mean more than a quarter of its 211 member associations would take part.
The idea was raised at a meeting of the Fifa council on Wednesday as part of any other business. According to reporting in the New York Times, the delegate was Ignacio Alonso, the president of the Uruguayan Football Association. Uruguay will be one of three South American countries to host a “centenary celebration match” in 2030. Fifa’s president, Gianni Infantino, agreed to explore the idea further.
A Fifa spokesperson told the Guardian it had a duty to consider all requests from council members: “A proposal to analyse a 64-team Fifa World Cup to celebrate the centenary of the Fifa World Cup in 2030 was spontaneously raised by a Fifa council member in the ‘miscellaneous’ agenda item near the end of the Fifa council meeting held on 5 March 2025. The idea was acknowledged as Fifa has a duty to analyse any proposal from one of its council members.”
Infantino has consistently sought to extend and expand the influence of what was already the most coveted prize in sport since he was elected Fifa president in 2016. A proposal to stage the World Cup every two years was abandoned but next year’s World Cup in Mexico, Canada and the US will bring an increase from 32 countries to 48, with the number of matches rising from 64 to 104.
Spain, Portugal and Morocco are to act as joint hosts in 2030, with centenary matches in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay. The addition of 16 further teams would create substantial logistical challenges for the hosts, not least the duration of the tournament, which would probably run for at least six weeks. Questions over the carbon footprint of such an event would grow larger.
The politics of an expanded World Cup reveal the differing priorities of competing nations and confederations. In South America an increase in participating numbers could in effect mean the end of qualifying rounds, which would in turn hit the resources of national associations who receive revenue from those matches, and as many as half of Uefa’s 55 nations would be expected to qualify. In Asia, Africa and Oceania an expansion of places would probably be received positively, with a number of countries likely to make their World Cup debuts as a result.
Article says that FSDL is pushing for a deal similar to Premier League.
The Football Association Premier League Ltd (FAPL)is operated as a corporation and is owned by the 20 member clubs. Each club is a shareholder
with one vote each on issues such as rule changes and contracts. The
clubs select a chairman, chief executive, and board of directors to

operations of the Premier League, but has veto power as a special
shareholder during the election of the chairman and chief executive and
when new rules are adopted by the league

My question on this. Does this contract only constitute for the top division or the entire premier league pyramid starting from the lowest division ? Do this also not include promotion relegation? Fsdl is pushing what suits them at the moment, we shouldn't go for this gimmck of taking from epl

I think only the top tier division (current ISL) Rest of the pyramid I league 1,2,3 etc will be different ownership. As far as relegation/promotion is implemented until a fixed team limit whether 16,18,20 etc is reached, this is indeed a good solution. But my concern is how they will create schedule based on NT fixtures to handle in between and allow players for the camp which in our case the European model doesn't suit and atleast 10 days before matchday is required to get accustomed to the NT setup for the players.

My simple question is if they are trying to buy supporters stating this is EPL model, its not correct cause EPL involves the entire pyramidal structure including promotion delegation is every layer. As you stated they only consider isl and not other leagues, no delegations promotion(this alone should make aiff consider to reject the proposal, we have lost enough time arguing on this, I don't want this any more), authority of the league?, do you think larger partners will even think of national team? I don't know how nuts can we be to believe a product will stand by itself without improvement in national teams

Finally. Many others think like me.

They will take the name of EPL
But actually they are nitpicking and not following the model of EPL
Rest of the pyramid I league 1,2,3 etc will be different ownership.
