The two teams are also jointly ranked 35th in the Asian continent. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) have appointed Stephen Constantine as the new head coach of the national side whose first assignment would be to guide India into the next round of qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup as they face Nepal (180th in the world) in a twin legged affair next month. It must be noted that the Indian national team only played two international friendlies last year failing to win against Bangladesh and Palestine respectively. Meanwhile, Pakistan have moved up 17 places in the rankings and jumped from the 188th spot to the 171st. Iran continues to be the highest ranked Asian nation on 41st spot with South Korea coming in second at the 54th position.
