A regional NE League, however romantic the idea may be, is a no-starter just for the fact that two state FAs coming together is difficult, forget seven. There has to be one dominant state FA to push it through. In this case, there are none. Secondly, distances are huge, even though this is just a 'region'. Add the difficult terrain also. The political will is also not there.

Now with Chennai united. Chennai city, Chennai FC , Viva chennai , Arrows FC, Hindustan eagles are all in the top tier of the CFC senior div its gonna be interesting next season. All of these have national league ambitions.
Only Indian Bank and AGORC remain of the old PSU powers.
Not sure if people know, but the winner of Chennai senior division is up to the courts.
