With apparently so many good things happening in Indian football, why are we so eager abt this championship! ? What will it bring to the table as far as indian football is concerned! ? Excepting for may be a Sunil Chhetri emerging as the top scorrer and have some intnl goals recorded against his name! And with that, he would command a hefty pay packet from JSW Bangalore!

@soccerlover<;div>We will get to see our NT playing international competitive matches after a long time. For me, that is the single biggest exciting thing about this tournament.</div>

I want to see the AFC somehow incorporate the regional tournaments as FIFA World Cup qualifiers (like Round 1). It would make for a lot more incentive. Right now it is 2 games and out in World Cup qualifiers.

Our NT players only look fwd to this tournament, which doesn't have any relevance. We need to play more against higher ranker opposition(I know many in SAFF are ranked above us!), that would give more exposure to the boys. And every year, if we restrict ourselves to these shitty tournaments, why do we need foreign coaches? Bhutia always used to speak abt "facilities" and was instrumental in having the camp held in Dubai/Portugal etc. - why do we need all these, when we eye only SAFF Cups!

SAFF cup is not on FIFA match days, right? or is it? Can any team earn point for FIFA ranking in this tournament? No, right?
