They are pretty much throwing everybody's name in this PR stunt. Tendulkar, Ganguly, Ranbir Kapoor, John Abraham, Abhishek Bacchan, Shahrukh Khan all are interested in buying franchise.
Just out of curiosity, what allows these guys to be OWNERS of professional football clubs? Do you see this anywhere else in the sports world? Actors owning sports teams? Do they even know how to run one or do they think their money and fame will run everything for them?
@ArsenalFan700 These actors are paid performers and believe me, as an owner, that is also their paid performance. Real owners are someone else, these actors have very little share and they are paid like in IPL we see Shilpa Shetty, Priety Zinta, to jump every time there is a Six or shed a tear when their Batsman gets out. If the real owners of such Franchise come and sit in the box, some shady businessman with tax evasion record, money laundering charges and links with Underworld comes and sits in the VIP box and camera zooms on them as owners, that franchise is doomed from Day 1. John Abraham was introduced in HIL as owner of Delhi Waveriders but 87% of it is owned by Wave company of chadha Family. out of 13 % of John Abraham share, again that is joint investment with some Producer. So what is John Abraham share? 2%, 3% for acting as owner in every match. Legally there is nothing wrong as it is a PR strategy. Crowds get excited with Film star and focus is diverted away from the actual owner of shady past.
Let us not get into John Abhraham. He is probably the best thing to have happened to HIL. He is just not there for PR stunt, you will find a number of articles indicating the great role played by him in the success of Delhi Waveriders. I

To be honest, that sounds smart. But at least with HIL and IPL the teams are publically owned by corporates while here they could be owned by the actors themselves fully... I just want to know whether there is something going here to ensure the long-term future is stable.
to be frank actors don't have that much money to own 100% of any sports club probably they can own i-lig club....apart from that no....they only buy some mere share and use there star attraction....in terms of ISL i don't see it will go for more than 2-3 season...bcoz by that time AIFF will realise that i-lig is on brink of end...and they cannot surive on ISL where 7 foriegn player will play....they will sacrifice ISL but only when i-lig will be doomed....so expect i-lig owner be anti-aiff for 3 years and some i-lig owner will switch to ISL by booting there i-liga club...
