Anelka was never confirmed... people are jumping the gun to get clicks on their blog and such. The Indian Super League has a regularly updated facebook and twitter page, same with Mumbai City FC. ISL also has a regularly updated website. If Anelka was "confirmed' the ISL would say so... or at least Mumbai City.
