  • WRT the Raman Vijayan issue, the point is not wether he is qualified for the job or not. Chennai had approached him for the job, promised him that and made him represent them at the international player draft. Then when that was done, they snubbed him. That was wrong. Plus look at how Kerala Blasters are keeping IM Vijayan happy. Raman Vijayan is the only nationally recognisable face TN has right now and they're treating him like shit.

I have a slight concern on the connect it can achieve with tamilians on this. We need a tamil face to attract more crowds.

I think Ravanan can be brought into the side as churchill isnt really playing for the Ileague this season. He is decent enough to be a backup to the defence.

Apart from that A Raegan can also be looked into. I can surely think he & jeje would benefit from better coaching.

Am not sure if Raman vijayan is the most recognised face of TN, its Syed sabir pasha.

  • What do you ppl think of how the international media has covered the ISL? It's been all over BBC, Sky Sports and English newspapers. Definitely a first for Indian football

Raman Vijayan represented them at the international player draft !?!?
    Why ??
What knowledge does he have of any if those foreign player's ?

    Crying over spilt milk...

Fyi BFC management were at the draft of Indian player's. ..and Raman Vijayan wasn't contacted then by Sun Group...despite RV being a Tamilian and having a Bangalore connect with South Utd.

RV is coach of South Utd but hardly ever stayed in Bangalore...during the recently concluded Super Division. ..he apparently arrived each time a day before game day and spent the rest of the week in Chennai.

His work rate & ethics while South Utd were in 2nd Division was typical of such coaches....funny to hear him whining now about being overlooked...

He has to face facts....in the era of ISL...Indian coaches are barely 2nd choice...despite "rules" of an Indian asst. ..many have opted for Foreign coaches with some Indian experience as assistants. .ie Trevor Morgan, Steve Darby , Barreto & Papas

@FootieMark this is not the first time an Indian tournament is getting worldwide media coverage. Remember PLS launched by CMG group who were also behind the Argentina vs Venezuela friendly in Kolkata?
That was also heavily discussed in world media until IMG-R working behind the curtains made sure it is killed before it takes off.
In fact a German guy is in touch with me as he is doing some research on ISL for a German marketing company and he keeps referring to PLS.
In any case, why should the fact that world media is discussing ISL excite anyone of us is beyond me

  • Media discuss something when they are paid money to create hype.
Right now, there is a shortfall in Sponsorship in Sports in India. BCCI has been able to find only one bidder Micromax and that also at reduce rate for sponsoring indian cricket. HIL seems to be going towards cancellation. IMG-Reliance has put all efforts to sell their fake Football product-whether Media pitch or Bollywood stars or Cricket icons. Lets see how much revenue they are able to generate?
