You have Mangi & Jairo & Silvestre as CB's with Mendy being RB, Meetai and Abhishek Das mixing up a bit.
Upfront its potent enough with Lerma with Indian strikers Balwant & Jeje. I know they aint the best but you have creative midfielders in Elano, Pelissari & Bojan with Hidalgo as well an all foriegn midfield.
You dont need top strikers to create and score goal scoring opportunities.
Yesterday went to YBK to watch Kolkata's practice match. Witnessed ATK in action first time in India. Very low quality football. Don't know what did they do for last one month. Many of them are not match fit. Sanju is total waste. Ethiopian striker is good but not fit. Professionalism is almost zero. Ball went through the goal net when ATK scored. 2nd half Nigerian XI fully dominated ATK. They could not score unfortunately. Coordination was much better within their team. I have seen many CFL, I league, AFC cup matches in YBK. This was the worst. I was not expecting EPL or La liga quality from them but not this also. Totally disappointed. I am not hoping much now. If they improve drastically in coming week then it's a different thing. But I am doubtful in that regard as well.
Garcia and Podany didn't play. It was almost two different teams in two halves. Gonzalez scored. Nigerian XI was physically tough opponent, That's for sure !!
Who cares. It is a friendly... a first match in India for many of these players as well... who cares. Like someone said, we have seen many results in pre-season.
I remember during the Red Bulls vs Arsenal game the Red Bulls dominated Arsenal but we all know what the reality is in terms of quality.
common guys athletico Kolkata played against legends like odafa ranti chidi uga and were able to defeat them great result when u play against such legends of the game
